The Steam Autumn Sale is in full swing, and I have been combing the catalog for the hidden gems that deserve your time and money! We have quite a few to show off, so grab some snacks and enjoy browsing! So, here are 15 games that you may not know about but should be awesome on the Deck:
Abalon - $17.99 (40% off)
Abalon is a roguelike adventure that fuses tactical turn-based combat and card strategy. Choose your summoner and explore a tabletop world to discover its secrets. With its many game modes and diverse range of tools, this is an excellent deckbuilder with a lot to offer!
It is rated Steam Deck Verified, has controller support, and should be an overall great experience on the go!
Aground Zero - $17.99 (10% off)
The world has ended. You are deep underground, and all alone with a cheery AI companion. You will have to mine and build to survive, and search for other survivors to help you. It is a weird mix of Minecraft mechanics and colony sims, but has great polish for an Early Access title.
It is rated Steam Deck Verified and has controller support. ProtonDB does have a couple of reports about it running poorly, but the performance has greatly improved in recent patches
Alekon - $3.19 (80% off)
Photograph dozens of whimsical creatures, solving puzzles to get them to strike collectable poses! Then befriend them through unique quests and minigames. This is the PC version of Pokemon Snap, but with more depth of gameplay. At this price tag, Alekon is an easy purchase.
It is rated Steam Deck Verified, has full controller support, and runs great, although it is surprisingly intensive on the battery.
Approaching Infinity - $14.29 (20% off)
Approaching Infinity began as a traditional roguelike inspired by Star Trek and Borderlands 2. It evolved into a sprawling space adventure with infinite procedural progression. This game packs a ton into this space sandbox, with built-in mod support.
The game doesn't have a Steam Deck rating nor does it have controller support, but I've had great success playing it with the Keyboard and Mouse controller profile.
BROK The Investigator - $13.99 (60% off)
An innovative adventure mixed with beat 'em up and RPG elements. In a grim world where animals have replaced mankind, what kind of detective will you be? BROK the Investigator blew me away on launch, and its mix of great writing and gameplay makes it an easy recommend.
The game is rated Steam Deck Verified, has controller support, and doesn't have any issues running on the Deck.
Chronosome Evil 2 - $12.99 (35% off)
Dive deep into this Lovecraft-inspired RTS survival for a second time. Assemble your strike team and manage your convoy. It's up to you to survive the onslaught of nightmares that are surely coming your way. Chronosome Evil 2 is a true hidden gem, and it deserves more eyes on it. The developer is actively adding content to the game, and this is a deep game packing a lot of depth.
The game is rated Steam Deck Playable due to needing a community controller configuration, showing incorrect controller icons, and small in-game text. Despite these flaws, it is an enjoyable experience on the Deck, although it lacks Cloud save support.
Ctrl Alt Ego - $10.99 (45% off)
Innovative genre mashup (first-person immersive sim puzzler FPS RPG) with emphasis on problem-solving. One of the best games of 2022, as well as my personal GOTY. Ctrl Alt Ego is a brilliant immersive sim with intelligent writing, and will test your creativity.
The game is rated Unknown, but it does have controller support and will hit at least 40 FPS on low to mid settings. It is a solid experience on the Steam Deck, although it requires a high TDP to maintain steady frame rates.
Endgame: Road to Salvation - $7.19 (40% off)
A high-octane road trip through a besieged world during a demon-infested zombie apocalypse. Rescue survivors, form a caravan, call in various support drops or air strikes, loot random structures for supplies or craft them yourself, modify common vehicles into post-apocalyptic machines of war.
The game doesn't have a Steam Deck rating, but it does have controller support. It is surprisingly playable on the Deck with Proton GE.
LONESTAR - $7.39 (26% off)
LONESTAR is a strategic Roguelike spaceship deckbuilder. As a bounty hunter, you will capture criminals scattered across the universe. Win the shockwave battle to gain rewards and vacations. Find treasures, customize spaceships, unlock talents, defeat the felons and be a legend!
The game is rated Steam Deck Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons and small text, but it does have full gamepad support. You should be able to cap the TDP limit to save on battery without sacrificing performance.
Makis Adventure - $5.99 (40% off)
Fight, dash, swim and bite your way through 3 different dungeons. Let the inner shark out! Face many different opponents and defeat powerful bosses. Makis Adventure is an Action-Platformer with a bite!
It doesn't have a rating yet, but we can confirm it is fantastic to play on the Deck.
Mech Armada - $3.99 (80% off)
Create and command custom Mechs to outmaneuver The Swarm in this post-apocalyptic tactical turn-based rogue-lite. Leverage the terrain, learn each Mech's unique skills and use strategy and resources to survive an ever-changing series of battles to give humanity hope.
It is rated Steam Deck Verified and has controller support. It also has a great ProtonDB rating, so there shouldn't be any issues playing this on the go.
Prodigal - $3.74 (75% off)
Prodigal is a story-rich action-adventure where you journey through a vibrant world fighting vicious monsters, exploring puzzling dungeons, and collecting magical artifacts. Unravel the mysteries of Vann's Point and bond with all of its curious townsfolk!
The game is rated Steam Deck Playable due to needing to set the display resolution manually, but otherwise, it has controller support and should be a solid portable experience.
Shattered Pixel Dungeon - $5.99 (40% off)
Shattered Pixel Dungeon is a traditional roguelike dungeon crawler that's simple to start but hard to master! Every game is a unique challenge, with five different heroes, randomized levels and enemies, and hundreds of items to collect and use.
The game is rated Steam Deck Verified, has controller support, and should work perfectly out of the box. You may be able to set the TDP limit down to cap battery drain without impacting performance.
Soulash 2 - $15.19 (20% off)
Soulash 2 is a sandbox RPG roguelike with a procedurally generated open world, simulated history, skill-based progression system, customizable abilities, material-based crafting, building, trading, and the possibility of total mayhem. Will you save your world or destroy it?
The game is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, small in-game text, and not supporting the Deck's native display resolution. It doesn't have controller support directly, but with a good controller configuration, it should be an enjoyable experience.
The Doors of Trithius - $13.49 (10% off)
The Doors of Trithius is an open-world RPG roguelike. Engage in tactical turn-based combat in a living world of warring factions, wandering behemoths, and ancient magic. Level your skills, cook, craft, and explore dungeons. Will you follow the story, or let adventure be your guide?
The game is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and small in-game text. It doesn't have controller support, but a solid controller configuration should make the game very playable on the Deck.
And those are just the highlights! With so many games on offer, there should be something for everyone. What are you going to pick up in the sales? Let us know in the comments section!

The section for Approaching Infinity is just a copy paste of the Steam page blurb and a paragraph about how the game doesn't show steam deck or controller support, but *should* work. Why is it on this list? It doesn't seem helpful.
