I absolutely love Shadows of Doubt. The immersive sandbox detective simulator that has you running around an open sci-fi noir city solving procedurally generated crimes is so much fun and feels extremely open-ended compared to other similar detective games. I remember playing it when it first came out, and it didn't have proper controller support. While that has changed, it isn't perfect and could definitely be improved, especially for comfortably playing on the Steam Deck. Luckily, it seems we will have that, and the developer is working on it!

In the newest Steam Community Post for the game, developer ColePowered Games talked a bit about their upcoming console release, which has a bunch of optimizations, and one of the big ones is better controller support. The team not only confirmed that they are testing and optimizing, but they also mentioned that it is translating nicely to the Steam Deck as well! This makes it even more exciting for the 1.0 launch.

A new update was also released yesterday, which brought with it a ton of fixes and improvements. These include memory leak fixes, 15 new collectible cards, and even better controller support, which includes simplified controls, a virtual cursor, and an onscreen keyboard. There are a lot of nice improvements here, and a majority of them will be fantastic with the Steam Deck, especially the memory leak fixes and controller support improvements!

You can check out the 1.0 controller support post and the newest update on their respective Steam Community Posts.

Shadows of Doubt is currently available on Steam for $19.99, but it can be purchased on Fanatical right now for $14.69.
