Ready or Not’s brutal tactical shooting has always brought me joy, despite its controversy. While it has been rough on the Steam Deck, the new 1.3.5 update has made some changes to improve performance on the Deck, alongside a slew of other adjustments.

Unfortunately, there are no specific notes in the patch documents on what changes have been made to improve Steam Deck support for Ready or Not, but it does mention improved support, which is always a pleasure to see.

The rest of the patch looks solid as well. The modding support has been improved to allow persistent storage of objects, and first-person animations have been fixed so the arrest animation doesn’t look janky. There are also a bunch of fixes to AI, the interface, and many of the levels. It is important to note that for the Steam Deck, the graphical preset may not be selected automatically on boot.

Ready or Not is available on Steam for $49.99 and is rated Playable due to needing to manually configure graphical settings, small in-game text, and going through a launcher/setup tool.
