Operation Octo launched just last week, and it is a pretty nifty tower defense game that packs a ton of character. You fight off waves of skeletons as a cute octopus, which is certainly a unique theme. There was an odd shader bug on the Steam Deck at launch when using the native Linux build, but this week’s 1.0.3 patch has fixed that problem. Hopefully, this will make Operation Octo a bit smoother on the Steam Deck, and overall!

The update is a mix of fixing launch issues, achievements that did not trigger, and some balance tweaks, including fixing a glitch when the Imitation Crab cannot transform into a Bubble Parrot, the aforementioned Twilight Zone vision shader problems on the Steam Deck, a nasty freeze when players could get stuck in Level 3-10, and some reworks to the Twilight Zone boss.

Operation Octo is available for $5.99 on Steam.
