New Steam Controller Orders Won't Be Shipped Until 2027

The Steam Controller is consistently being sold out, making it one of the most in-demand controllers for PC right now. And it makes sense why, as I mentioned in my review, it is the best PC controller for those who primarily play PC games through Steam. However, the constant demand has led to Valve making some changes to the store page, and unfortunately, you might be waiting for quite some time to get your hands on one of them if you haven’t yet.

Starting today, Valve is now showing an estimated timeline of when your order is going to be sent to you to purchase. Since they recently switched over to the reservation queue system, they have been sending out emails giving people the chance to purchase once it’s time for their order. Now, they will show the time by which you should receive your order, whether it’s going to be by September, December, or in 2027.

If you’ve already put in your order, you can go to the Steam Controller page and see your expected order window. However, for those who haven’t got into the queue yet, your order probably won’t be coming in until 2027. There aren’t any specifics yet as to when in 2027 the order could come in, and it’s possible that Valve could fulfill more orders than expected and push up the timeline, but this is the estimation as it is right now.

It’s great that there is more transparency on when the order will come in, but it’s still very disheartening for those who haven’t put in their order yet. It’s also pretty sad for someone who has put in their order to see that they aren’t gonna get their controller until the end of this year, or even within the next three months. Still, more transparency is never a bad thing, but it is a little bit sad to see.
