A new Metroidvania has been released, and boy, does it give me major Hollow Knight vibes! Deviator is a new early-access title that was launched on Steam. To celebrate, developer Gami Studio has given us a little FAQ so we know what to expect. It's a beautiful-looking game, and I am interested, but I also want to appreciate the developers' honesty regarding Steam Deck's performance.

Instead of saying it works on the Steam Deck, Gami Studio went a little further into what you may expect while playing. In question 8 of their FAQ, they go over that the game can currently be played on the device, but there has not been any performance optimization, so expect slow loading or crashes. They also mention they will continue to optimize the experience. This could be because the game is in early access, but the transparency is much appreciated and only makes me want to support the game more. This trend continues when they list the currently known issues, ensuring you aren't blindsided.

In the FAQ, the devs share more about the game and their future plan./ They expect the current version to be around 5-7 hours. You can expect new modes like Boss Rush and other challenges throughout early access, the game will have achievements and trading cards, you can re-bind keys, the price will increase after full release, and console ports are not off the table, but the PC version will come first.

You can check out the entire FAQ and their answers, as well as their development roadmap, from their Steam Community Post.
