Big Walk may have just released, but is already become one of my favorite games of this year and quite possibly the best co-op game I’ve played. Working together with friends who overcome countless unique puzzles that challenge us in ways that truly test our ingenuity and strategic mindset was so much fun. I truly loved it, and it seems that others feel the same way, and one person is even finding a way to make the game completely playable in VR.

Shown off by user @CircuitLord on Twitter/X, a VR mod for Big Walk is being developed by them. Imagining being able to go on this Big Walk, see the puzzles and mountain in front of us, and have to manually pose and communicate by actually moving our body, sounds like so much fun, and it looks like it’ll be a blast.
The mod is still in heavy development, and there are currently only two videos that show them walking around, looking around, and playing around with interactive objects. Still, for a game that just released a few days ago, having a mod like this already in development is pretty astounding. I can’t wait to try this for myself when it fully launches.
However, there are some big questions that still remain. One of the biggest for me is whether or not people playing in VR will be able to play with people not playing in VR. This might be pretty essential, because not everybody is going to have a VR headset and you’ll still wanna play with your friends even if they don’t. If there is compatibility between VR and flat, this will be a pretty incredible experience.
And if you don’t wanna wait for this mod, I highly recommend picking Big Walk up. The puzzles are unique and challenging, and the communication that’s required with your friends is going to feel so fulfilling the more you play. It’s absolutely worth picking it up ASAP, and you won’t be disappointed, especially if you’re playing with four people.
