I have said it over and over, and I will say it again: the Trails series is by far one of my favorite JRPG series of all time. The way Falcom weaves the story of each entry in the series together while also making them able to be enjoyed without playing any of the previous entries is phenomenal. The newest entry, Trails Through Daybreak, is out today, and while we are still working on our review, we do have something else to look forward to now: Trails Through Daybreak 2 has been announced!

The game continues the story of Daybreak, following familiar faces like Van Arkride (protagonist of this sub-series) on another investigation with chaos looming on the horizon. I don't want to reveal too much more, since I don't want to spoil any of the small story bits for those playing through Daybreak currently, but it looks like it's going to be a great one.

You can wishlist Trails Through Daybreak 2 over on Steam right now, with a planned release for early 2025. There is no word on its system requirements, but if Daybreak 1 is anything to go by, it will at least be playable!

Now is the perfect time to get into the Trails series as well, due to the Steam Summer Sale going on. You can get the first game in the entire series, Trails in the Sky, for $9.99, and while it is a bit dated compared to the newer games, it is so worthwhile to experience the series from the beginning. You can also check out our article on how every Trails game runs on Steam Deck!
