Two days ago, The Spell Brigade released on to Steam Early Access and it has been getting some great reviews. The online co-op Vampire Survivors-like game emphasizes working together with your friends to complete objectives, upgrade spells, and fight off thousands of enemies. It sounds like Vampire Survivors, but in 3D, with multiplayer gameplay at its core, I love it. And with its first early access update, it should look a bit better on the Steam Deck.

In patch number one, there are two specific bugs that were fixed for the Steam Deck. Z-fighting on ice textures in the Frozen Ancients map has been fixed, while the weird shadows that could appear on the game over screen have been fixed up as well. These are two small instances of weird bugs, but it’s great that they are being fixed regardless.

The rest of the update improves the game in various different ways. We have some balancing changes for Sol’ Phish, a reduction in the number of statues to destroy for the statues objective and increased time limit, and some stability fixes like matchmaking status displaying correctly and lobbies merging unintentionally. We also now have a “Leave” button on the game over screen, so now you can leave voluntarily whenever you want!

There are more changes with this update as well, and you can view the full changelog over on their Steam Community Post.

The Spell Brigade is available for $8.99 on a 10% off sale until September 24th.
