Just yesterday, Retroid announced their new Pocket 6 and Pocket G2 handhelds, with the devices now available for pre-order as well. Both are pretty fantastic upgrades over the previous Pocket 5, showing improvements for a fantastic price. However, there have been some alarm from consumers that the design of the Pocket 6 isn't that great. Not only does Retroid hear you, but it is giivng us a chance to vote on whether it will keep that design.

In a poll on Twitter/X, Retroid's official account has given users the chance to vote on which design is used for the Pocket 6. There are two polls included in the thread, with the first giving us an option of whether the D-Pad or the left joystick is on top, and the second gives an option for the current (top) design or the redesign (bottom) overall. Retroid has also clarified that the hot keys have been moved to the back of the device in the redesign.
While it did seem a little weird at first, given that preorders have already gone live for the Pocket 6, it is also a clear sign that the company is listening to and making adjustments based on their customers. It's interesting to see, and while I haven't seen much of it, I am happy to see them being so responsive.
The polls will be running for 24 hours, and end at around 7:50am tomorrow (October 29th). By then, we will most likely have a final design solidified for the devices, but so far, it looks like the left stick on top and redesign are pulling ahead as the winners of each respective poll. Personally, I like the symmetrical joysticks, and the current design is interesting, but I see the benefit of doing a more traditional style with the redesign.
The Retroid Pocket 6 can be pre-ordered on the Rettroid website starting at $209, while the Pocket G2 is available for pre-order starting at $199, and will start shipping soon.
