Customizing your Steam Deck to your own personal taste is always something I will enjoy, and there are many ways you can do it. One of my favorites is changing out the actual buttons on the Deck, using whatever colors I want. Surprisingly, I did not expect this to go further than new colors, but I was very wrong, and you can actually get metal buttons now!

From the mind behind Deck Buttons comes raw Aluminum and Copper Deck Buttons! Each set comes with all the face buttons on the front of the Deck, and man is it cool. The buttons will ship as raw aluminum or copper, but because it is metal, you can give them unique looks. You can shine them, brush them in specific ways, and with the copper version, it can develop real Patina, giving it a turqoise sheen.

The buttons use a combination of metal and resin to get a nice hybrid design that allows for proper fitting and has the unique look and feel of metal. Deck Buttons also notes that the aging process will make your buttons look unique thanks to the oil on your hands, and the buttons are extremely durable. The buttons will weigh a bit more as well, with copper weighing slightly more than aluminum, but both will weigh slightly more due to their being metal.

This is a really interesting concept, and I am definitely curious, though I am not sure how it will feel in action. I really like the feel of metal, and I love how it can be converted into a unique design just by using it, but I am not sure how much weight it will add to the Deck, and rust (I have learned it won't rust, but corrosion is a worry) is something that will always worry me. Still, I think there's some potential to the idea and I love how it looks!

The Aluminum and Copper Deck Buttons are available for pre-order for $60 and will start shipping in October.
