Project Zomboid is notorious for its immense sandbox gameplay and how long it’s spent in Early Access. It’s one of my favorite games ever made, especially on the Steam Deck, where it is surprisingly good. While it is an excellent experience, there are still a couple of lingering issues here and there, and Project Zomboid’s latest unstable branch continues to tweak these teething troubles in another big patch.

Along with the various mix of bug fixes, small gameplay changes, various content addons and optimizations, the main takeaway for us Steam Deck fans is fixing a minor UI issue where buttons sometimes overlapped. This is most seen when tinkering with the interface scaling, and it’s something that I noticed when making sure I could read the text clearly without my eyes hurting. The patch notes are fairly large as usual with these unstable branches, but it is nice to see that this little problem on the Deck is now fixed.

Project Zomboid is on sale for $13.39 until October 6th and is rated Verified.
