Lego The Lord of the Rings received a surprise update this week that allows for Steam Deck compatibility, which is always nice for us! Many older-generation titles do not get dedicated updates for Steam Deck performance, so this surprised me. Unfortunately, the patch notes don’t go into any detail whatsoever about what has been done to allow the Verified badge by Valve to go ahead. We will test the performance out, however, and see if this update improves things, but it's always great seeing a game get a green checkmark.

Despite launching back in 2012, Lego: The Lord of the Rings was always one of my favorites of the many Lego games to exist, although that might just be me wanting as much Tolkien as I can get my hands on.
If you want to try Lego: The Lord of the Rings out for yourself, Steam has it for 80% off at $3.99 for another day.

I can tell you how it got verified. Before there was a bug with the way water/lava was rendered, it would glow like a rainbow, and the entire sprite or model of water would be visible through terrain, all the while it was glowing bright like a rainbow, it was wildly annoying and distracting. Not game breaking, but terrible to deal with imo. We'll that got fixed.
Well that would make sense then! Great to see it fixed.
