Into the Fire Developers Want The Game Running on Steam Deck At Launch

Another great game that I was shocked when I saw during the Triple-I Initiative showcase was Into the Fire. From Starward Industries, the developers behind The Invincible, this new experience has you facing fire demons as you rescue as many survivors as you can after a devastating volcanic eruption. It looks incredible, and if you are hoping to play this one on the Steam Deck, there is some good news for you!

After the showcase ended, I emailed Starward Industries to see if the game would have Steam Deck support on release, and it sounds like it won't be a dream to fight the fire on the go. I heard back from Maciej Dobrowolski, the Chief Marketing Officer at Starward Industries, who said that they are aiming to be Steam Deck Verified at the early access launch or shortly after. He also mentions that it isn't a 100% guarantee it will happen in that time period due to being a small team, but they love the Deck and it's important to them that the game runs great on it.

With no set release date, I am not surprised that we do not have definitive answers, but it's awesome to see that the team is taking the Deck into account and wants it to be playable. It gives me the confidence that this is going to be solid to play on the go, and that investing in the game when it launches will more than likely be a safe bet for Steam Deck support later on.

Into the Fire can be wishlisted on Steam now to get ready for its eventual release this year.
