Civilization 7 has had a brutal first year, but work has been done to salvage the game from its rough launch. Patch 1.3.1 has dropped, continuing the steady Tides of Power collection content drop campaign.

This collection is free for all owners of the game until January 5, 2026, and it comes with some nice new things. There are new civs in the Ottomans and Iceland, as well as the leader Sayyida al Hurra. There is also a fresh map type called Shattered Seas, improved biome generation for more natural terrain, a round of civilization balance adjustments more Egypt, America and Russia, and a host of AI and gameplay balance changes. The interface is also better aligned, which will help out the Steam Deck experience.

Civilization 7 is $69.99 at the moment, although it will likely go on sale during the Steam Winter Sale. It is also Steam Deck Verified.
