Blue Prince is one of the best games I have played this year so far. I mentioned in my review that the way it combines puzzles and roguelikes into one, engrossing experience just feels phenomenal, and it's a hard game to put down, even when it's completed. However, there have been some issues trying to play the game on the Steam Deck. While it didn't affect everyone, some players were getting a colored error bar on some screens that were supposed to be playing cinematics. However, the new 1.02 patch that just released is here to save the day!

The highlight of this patch is the new video files that were added, which are specifically compatible with the Steam Deck. This should fix the colored bars that would appear instead of the cinematic files and make the game fully playable. This also increases the game's file size, but not by much at all and it still sticks under 4GB.

There are a couple of other fixes along with this update, too. The camera lock that could occur when reaccessing the lab machine shouldn't happen anymore, rarity and directory data will now be read from the correct save files, and there were some typos and text format fixes. There were also some fixes for the late-game problems, but they do include spoilers, so I won't discuss them here.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post. The team hid the fixes for late game that include spoilers, so if you do go to their post, do not hover over the black bars of text unless you want to be spoiled.
