Big Dig Energy has a ton of charm in its simulation of living an average dwarf’s fantasies, and some chunky updates have made it more suitable for the Steam Deck.

Big Dig Energy

While the game has enjoyed some nice content patches since its launch in July, the well-named Steam-Dig Optimization Patch v1.1.3 makes a bunch of nice additions that smooth out the whole player experience. The two main ones that matter most are the inclusion of full Vulkan support, which increases compatibility for AMD users such as the Steam Deck, and could see some nice performance increases. The second is a new Steam Deck checkbox that automatically applies specially optimized settings for the device.

The new update also adds a DLSS upscaling toggle and support for DLSS frame generation, which is only usable on computers with NVIDIA GPUs, and a fix for dynamite thrown while the game was saving that would make it a waste.

The developer notes that while he has made a lot of improvement for his game on the Deck, he is still working to make Big Dig Energy a better experience. In the meantime, this is a good time to pick Big Dig Energy up!
