While I do love SteamOS and everything it offers, I do love seeing alternatives that not only may give me a different, better experience in some ways, but can also be installed on other handhelds that have Windows on them. Bazzite is one of the two OS that I would recommend that mimic SteamOS enough to look and feel similar, and with the newest update for it, we have a lot of new fixes, updates, and more, including some specific fixes for the Steam Deck OLED.

Specifically pertaining to the Steam Deck, Bazzite's 3.5.0 update has some nice improvementsls. There is a workaround that has been implemented for the mura issue, the missing WiFi firmware has been corrected, and there was a fox for Handheld Controller Glyphs theme folder casing. We also have an updated version of HHD with better TDP controls, Handheld Controller Glyphs were added, and even a specific DeckHD patch was added to Gamescope.

But there is a lot more changed outside of anything Deck-specific. We have a new version of gamescope, bore scheduler, a bunch of framework changes were implemented, there are new .desktop shortcuts, the mesa driver was updated to 24.1, and the Legion Go will now automatically use the device's logo in the Logo Menu.

There are a significant amount of updates and bug fixes, that it would take too much time to list them all! I highly recommend checking out the entire changelog via the Bazzite Github Release Page.

Bazzite is a great alternative to SteamOS, especially for other devices, so it's awesome to see updates like this.
