As we reported a couple of days ago, Ubisoft has been ensuring that Assassin's Creed Shadows will run well on the Steam Deck when it launches in under a week's time on March 20th. Adding more credence to their claim is the fact that Valve has just given Assassin's Creed Shadows the "Verified" badge on their Steam Deck compatibility program.

There were concerns over whether the game would run at a playable framerate on the Steam Deck, but it seems like we are hopefully in for at least a stable 30 FPS experience here. Although Valve has been known to verify games that don't hold 30 FPS.
On perhaps not great news, Ubisoft has confirmed in a recent news post on Steam, that the game's graphical settings will be locked on the Steam Deck, with only upscaling options available to alter. They do note, however, that they may open up more options with future updates, and I'm sure the community will be able to offer workarounds too.

Are you surprised to see Assassin's Creed Shadows get the Verified badge? Will you be playing it on the 20th? Let us know in the comments!
