Announcing The 2024 Steam Deck Game Awards - An Awards Show All About Deck-Compatible Games

Over the past couple of months, we have been slowly but surely working on an end of the year project that we are putting together. It has been something I’ve thought about doing ever since I started SteamDeckHQ, and now, the time has come to unveil it. I am pleased to announce our first ever Steam Deck Game Awards!

This is an unofficial awards show that brings together some of the best Steam Deck compatible games that released this year to highlight some of the best games to play on the go. The Steam Deck is a very unique piece of hardware, being both a PC and console-like device with set hardware that puts everyone who uses it in the same performance metric. And, of course, it’s completely portable, meaning you can take your PC library wherever you go!

This show is designed to spotlight games that run well on the Steam Deck, so you won’t see mentions of games exclusively on PlayStation or games that won’t run on Deck at all. Every game we mention in this show will be Steam Deck compatible, so even if you don’t care about the winning game personally, you can still choose a different nominee and enjoy it on the go. The nominees went through an internal selection process, and the winners are voted on by hand-picked individuals who are well-versed with the games and the Steam Deck.

The show will be a pre-recorded video this year, and we are working closely with Hi-Tech-Lo-Life to put all of this together, but if all goes well and the community wants more, we will expand this to a live stream next year. We are planning to have a great lineup of presenters for our awards as well, with some big names who have already said yes! We couldn’t be more excited to work with them and appreciate that they’ve taken the time to work with us on this show.

We will announce the award categories, nominees, and presenters leading up to the show’s premiere. There isn’t a set date for this just yet, but it will be coming next month either before or during the Steam Winter Sale so you can see purchase any of these games at a discount, if they have one.
