The first handheld console that I ever used is one that will stick with me as one of my favorites of all time: the Game Boy Advance. I loved it, took it with me everywhere, and sadly lost one of my favorite games on it , Super Mario Advance 2, when I went on a trip to visit my father in New Zealand. It will forever be my saddest moment as a child. I love the console to death, and thanks to AYANEO, it looks like I’ll be able to relive those glorious moments once again.
Earlier today, AYANEO announced a new handheld they are making with their KONKR brand: the KONKR Pocket Advance. If the name isn’t a dead giveaway, it’s a new handheld that looks almost exactly like the original Game Boy Advance (GBA). It’s chunky, odd-looking, and has a weird 3:2 screen, and I loved it, and it looks like I’ll love this one as well.

The announcement doesn’t give us more details on specs, power, or even the screen size or aspect ratio, but it clearly looks like it’s going to be aesthetically similar to the GBA. I’m going to be really interested to see what kind of power this is going to have and how it will look to play other emulated games on the screen. I don’t know if I can see 16:9 aspect ratio emulation looking great, but 4:3 emulation, like N64, I can see working well.
I can’t wait to see more details and will be looking at AYANEO’s channels for more information as they announce it.
