Whispers from the Star is one of the most bizarre games released this year, bringing a fully interactive AI companion on a space survival adventure. While it is more of a tech demo than a full game experience, I still found it fascinating. A new update for the game is out now, bringing some important technical fixes to the game.

The patch notes for Whispers from the Star are small, but important. A memory leak on SteamOS and other Linux distros has been fixed that occurred during video calls with the companion, as well as a strange crash on the Steam Deck that occurs during authentication. These are vital fixes, as the game has had a few issues with stability since its launch.

Whispers from the Star is $9.99 on Steam. It is rated Unsupported for the Steam Deck, but has been reported to be working okay.
