There are games on the PC like Pokémon, but Crema’s Temtem has always stuck in my mind. It took a lot of the ideas that I wanted to see in Pokémon games, like co-op and customization, and brought them into a unique world that reeks of influence. Recently, they announced their newest game in the series, Temtem: Pioneers, which reminds me of Pokémon Legends mixed with crafting, and I love it. On top of that, it sounds like this will be one we can play on the Steam Deck.

Temtem: Pioneers

After getting the announcement, I reached out to Crema to ask whether it will be playable or optimized for the Steam Deck. They responded, and it sounds like we may not have to worry too much:

Great question! We love the Steam Deck and both Temtem and Temtem: Swarm are verified on it, so we'll definitely be pushing for it with Temtem: Pioneers as well!

While this isn't an outright confirmation, it does show the team wants to make sure it can run on the go, and I have a lot of faith in them. I looked at the system requirements for the game, and while they are a little on the high side, it could be run on the Steam Deck. The minimum requirements are on the high side, and the team is aiming for 30 FPS at 720p, but with the statement they made, I hope. They worked hard on making sure their last game, Temtem: Swarm, was a solid experience on the go, so I have a good feeling that will continue here.

Until then, I’ll be waiting patiently for more information because I couldn’t be more excited to play this on the Deck.
