This week, we saw some great games get their Steam Deck Verified or Playable badges, including one that has taken its sweet time to get it! Sea of Thieves finally got that green checkmark, along with EMPTY SHELL and the original FlatOut 1 and 2 games! We also have great Playable titles like Closer the Distance and Age of Empires 2, and we can't forget the upcoming Ace Attorney collection!

Here are the 10 highlights we found:

Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the system and how it can be fixed.

Steam Deck Verified/Playable Highlights 7/15/24 - 7/21/24

Sea of Thieves (Verified)

Sea of Thieves is a smash-hit pirate adventure game, offering the quintessential pirate experience of plundering lost treasures, intense battles, vanquishing sea monsters and more. Dive in with this revised edition of the game, which includes access to digital bonus media.

The game is $39.99 and is rated Verified.

Noreya: The Gold Project (Verified)

Venture into a frenetic metroidvania and take part in a fight between divinities where you will have to choose between Corrupting Gold and Purifying Light to achieve your ends.

The game is $24/99 and is rated Verified.

Closer the Distance (Playable)

Closer the Distance is a slice-of-life sim that tells a deeply emotional story about the connections between family and friends in the face of tragedy. Unearth long kept secrets, repair strained relationships, and help your loved ones move on.

The game will be released on August 1st and is rated Playable due to small in-game text and needing to change graphical settings for optimal gameplay.

FlatOut 1 and FlatOut 2 (Verified)

Experience the drive of your life in FlatOut 1 and 2 as you throw yourself around on and off the track causing fences to shatter, tyre walls explode, water tanks and barrels fly across the track into other cars.

Both FlatOut 1 and FlatOut 2 are on sale for $1.49 and $1.99 respectively until August 3rd. They are both rated Verified.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection (Verified)

Genopanic (Verified)

EMPTY SHELL (Verified)

EMPTY SHELL will throw you in a dark industrial environment, a secret facility on a Japanese island. Each volunteer has signed a contract for a "recovery operation" without being privy to too many details. A tense roguelite survival horror with a top down perspective.

The game is $11.99 and is rated Verified.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (Playable)

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition features “The Last Khans” with 3 new campaigns and 4 new Civilizations. Frequent updates include events, additional content, new game modes, and enhanced features with the recent addition of Co-Op mode!

The game is $19.99 and is rated Playable due to small in-game text, showing incorrect controller icons, and manually needing to bring up the virtual keyboard.

ArcRacer (Verified)
