In the past couple of hours, Retroid posted an ominous image on their X (Twitter) page teasing that an announcement will be made next week, Monday, 27th October. Coincidentally, the price of the Retroid Pocket 5 was just permanently reduced from $220 to $200, so could this be a Retroid Pocket 6 announcement?

Of course, Anbernic, AYN, and AYANEO all have dual-screen handhelds that have launched recently or are launching soon, so it wouldn't be a crazy guess that Retroid is preparing their own take on the form factor.

Others speculate it might be a Windows-based handheld or some other handheld that drops the Android operating system, but this seems unlikely for Retroid, which usually prides itself on more budget-friendly ARM devices, to which Android is well-suited.

My best guess would be a Retroid Pocket iteration that features a newer Snapdragon chipset, either 8gen2 or 8gen3, as the current Retroid Pocket 5 with the SD865 is Retroid's current best offering, and it has fallen behind the pack in that regard.
