Frontier Development is most well known for its park manager games, and 2016’s popular Planet Coaster has a sequel coming. Yesterday, Frontier revealed the surprising release date, and Planet Coaster 2 is coming on November 6!

I was a big fan of the original Planet Coaster, and the sequel has the potential to be fantastic. While the original is a lot of fun, it had some problems with optimization as well as the pathing tools being a little rough around the edges. Planet Coaster 2 looks to improve these two drawbacks massively, with greatly improved pathing and DirectX 12 compatibility.

Planet Coaster 2 also adds the water park tools to the series for the first time, and is probably the most awaited addition to the theme park builder out there! The new graphics and customization options for rides and buildings look great.

One feature I am most excited for is being able to visit other member’s parks in first person and explore their creations, as well as being able to share a sandbox map to build together. I am not the most eloquent park designer, so it helps having friends to help me build!

From today, players can pre-order Planet Coaster 2 to receive the Bonus Ride Collection, including rotating tracked ride FD Vision, the Outmax Water Coaster, and dizzying flat ride The Cube. Those who preorder the Deluxe Edition will receive the Vintage Funfair Ride Pack, including an additional ten coasters and rides inspired by iconic fairground rides.

Planet Coaster 2 is available for wishlist and preorder on Steam. What do you think of the upcoming sequel? Let us know in the comments!
