A new Proton Experimental update was released that includes some nice fixes and new playable games. Batman Arkham City GOTY's splash screen should display correctly, false warnings for Assassin's Creed Shadows about being installed on an HDD were corrected, and voice recognition of more languages in Phasmophobia will now work. We also have new playable games, including Quantum Threshold, AQUARIUM, and Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages.
The new Proton Experimental update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.
Proton Experimental 10/24/25 Update Changelog:
- Now playable: Quantum Threshold, REACH, Fellowship, AQUARIUM, 懒人修仙传2, Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages.
- Fixed haptics support for DualSense controllers which should now work in most games that support it.
- Improved support for Sony controllers in Tekken 8.
- Fixed Marvel Rivals crashing in benchmark with AMD GPUs.
- Fixed Assassin's Creed Shadows and Wild Assault incorrectly warning about being installed on a HDD.
- Fixed Proton Experimental regressions:
- Batman: Arkham City GOTY should display the splash screen correctly again.
- Added support for voice recognition of additional languages in Phasmophobia.
- Fixed Sword of the Stars: The Pit crashing when clicking an enemy.
- Fixed a crash in Marvin's Mittens after the cutscenes.
- Fixed Lemma randomly crashing.
- Updated Wine Mono to 10.3.0.
- Fixed Proton 10 regressions:
- Camera panning should work as expected in Dungeons & Dragons Online.
