Solo developer Slavic Magic seems to be on to a winner here, with their Historical City-Builder Manor Lords entering 2024 with over 2,000,000 people having the game on their wishlists. That makes Manor Lords the 2nd most wished for game on the Steam platform, definitely something they can be pleased about!

The game launches on April 26th on Steam and has a very strong following, we can understand why, as it looks beautiful and a bit more in-depth than other similar games we've seen lately.

The developer is focusing on maintaining a degree of historical accuracy in the game, following the rags-to-riches journey of a humble village becoming a sprawling feudal city. You'll have to manage city infrastructure and economic production lines, as well as master the game's real-time combat system in order to succeed here.

The lead developer, Greg Styczeń, had humble aspirations when first revealing Manor Lords, saying he expected to receive no more than 14,000 wishlists, with his girlfriend saying she estimated 7,000 at most! They're probably both happy at just how wrong they were! He also said he hopes this encourages other game developers out there to just keep pushing, even if you're unsure that your game will be a success.

Manor Lords is due to launch on April 26th on Steam. You can wishlist it right now, surprisingly!

The game has already been rated as "Playable" on the Steam Deck by Valve's Steam Deck Compatibility Rating. The system requirements indicate we're probably in for a 30 FPS experience here, and we do have partial controller support.

Are you excited for Manor Lords to launch? I sure am, I've been one of those 2,000,000 people for the past few months now, and I can't wait to see how well it plays on the Steam Deck! Let us know in the comments below what you think of this upcoming game!
