If you are ever looking for a wonderfully deep, enjoyable farming game, Farming Simulator 25 may be the way to go. Whether you take on the fields alone or with friends, it isn't more enjoyable than taking out your tractor and plowing the fields. Even though it is very similar to the last entry, it was still a great time, especially on the Steam Deck, which we noted in our review. And the new update makes it a little bit better.
The new 1.5 update has a good chunk of changes, with some performance increases on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but there are some improvements that will help us on the Steam Deck. Specifically, we have improved FSR 3 and TAA rendering, better shader generation when loading into a savegame without a shader cache already, improved HDR activation and color reproduction, and some general changes behind the scenes to significantly improve performance.
With these updates, we tested it out on the Steam Deck again to see if there were any differences. We found that while it is performing a few FPS higher and getting closer to 40, we won't change our recommended settings since 30 FPS is still the most stable and leaves some wiggle room for multiplayer. There wasn't a ton of visual change from our recommended settings, but the performance increase was noticeable, even if it didn't change our recommended settings.
Apart from those changes, there have been many great additions to the game. There are text and translation adjustments, improved collisions, better UI slider behavior with controllers, doubled the harvest rate of grapes and olives with some reduced planting costs, and a number of bug fixes that help different aspects of the game, like the placement areas of 250kW BGA and multiplayer syncing of ground tire deformation.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.
