When it comes to the upcoming JRPGs I am most looking forward to, Fantasian Neo Dimension is very high up there. From the original creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, the game feels wholly unique with its battle system, where you can change the skill trajectory to maximize your attacks and interesting story. And it looks like the game will be a fantastic experience on the go after seeing it at the Tokyo Game Show.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Fantasian Neo Dimension is actually running on Steam Decks! While I didn't get to play it myself (yet), this was confirmed to me by James Galizio, a senior staff writer at RPG Site. I met up with him briefly at the Square Enix booth after he had just played Fantasian. He confirmed to me that not only is it running on the Steam Deck, but it is performing exceptionally well! The game was hitting 90 FPS with very low CPU and GPU utilization, which indicates we could get good battery life, too. He also showed me a picture he took of the game running with the Deck overlay:

The Deck was plugged in, so he wasn't able to exactly say how much battery drain it had, but there is definitely speculation that we could get a TDP limit of 8 or 9 while keeping the game at 90. It also shows the game has full 16:10 resolution support, which means there are no black bars at the top or bottom of the game. Square Enix seems very confident this will be great on the Steam Deck, and it was made even more evident when we saw the Steam Deck logo on the sign at the booth:

While this was reported on RPG Site directly, I am going based on my conversations with James and what I have seen so far. The last day of Tokyo Game Show starts soon, and my plan is to try the game for myself. But in the case the line is too long, I will say I have heard nothing but amazing things about it, and I can't wait to play for myself!

Fantasian Neo Dimension can be pre-purchased for $49.99 ahead of its December 6th release date.
