I can't say I know much about EVOTINCTION, but it takes two of my favorite elements in games, Stealth and Sci-Fi settings, and puts them into one great-looking experience. Whenever I see a brand-new game, though, my first thought is to wonder how it runs on Steam Deck. While I am still curious, the developer gave us a little info when the game launched three days ago.

In their official announcement for the game's release, there were a few key points that developer Spikewave Games and publisher Astrolabe Games wanted to go over. This includes some new PC-specific features, mentioning that multiple playthroughs are necessary, and that they are listening to the community to make the game better.

But my favorite point here is about the Steam Deck. They mention that the Deck is currently supported, but it hasn't been fully optimized yet. They plan to continue improving compatibility through future updates. While there aren't specifics here, it is nice to see a dev be more realistic about support and say that you can play it, but it isn't as great as it will be.

I hope they take this time to listen to the community give feedback, and really listen to Steam Deck players on how the game could be improved. I haven't checked myself, but having FSR 3 implementation would be fantastic, since it does have DLSS, and being able to scale text and UI size for the smaller screen would be very beneficial overall.
