Creatures of Ava is an intriguing game, and we really enjoyed it in our review. It is a nice game with a great message about preservation, but it is much tougher to run on the Steam Deck. Unfortunately, unless we do a specific launch command, there are no graphical options to change, and the game forces you to use pre-defined options. Well, after this update, we are no longer locked in!

The new Explorer update released earlier today, and it addresses a lot of feedback that the team got, while also improving the experience overall! More specifically, for the Steam Deck, we now have graphical options unlocked so we can change our quality the way we want to. There were also some improvements to overall stability that reduces random crashes.

On top of that, the new update fully revamps the creature respawn system. Now, all secondary activities can be done even after rescuing the required amount of creatures for the main quest. There's also a new bot at the end of each biome to show you all missing collectibles so you can go back and get them more. There's also a bunch of balance and bug fixes, as well as UI and navigation improvements.
