While the user reviews are mixed, CarX Street looks like a solid racing game. You will race on roads, highways, and city streets with cars you finely tune to your liking. It looks extremely realistic, has a large open world with unique activities throughout, and there's a solid amount of future content planned. It looks great, and in their latest Steam Community Post, we got confirmation that the team is working towards bringing in full Steam Deck support to the game.

CarX Street

Towards the end of this Steam Community Post, we have a paragraph about Steam Deck support. They mention the game had partial support for the Deck before version 1.7.0, but it was restored in 1.7.1. They are aware of performance issues, and while full Steam Deck support was never announced, they are working towards it and optimizing for the Deck:

Partial Deck support, which existed before version 1.7.0, was restored in patch 1.7.1. We are aware of complaints about unstable performance and are actively working on optimizing the game for Steam Deck. Note that full official Deck support was never previously announced, but we are striving to achieve it.

CarX Technologies - Anti-Cheat, Mods, Linux, and Steam Deck

It appears that while users do want the game on the Steam Deck and Linux, which they are working on as well, there has been a lot of worry and controversy around the addition of Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). The team is using a kernel-level anti-cheat, which does rightfully rattle a lot of people. They decided to add it in due to preventing cheating on their upcoming competitive modes, and with them constantly receiving reports about cheaters, they decided to use EAC.

They do mention that this is one of the least intrusive options and doesn't block ReShade or car appearance mods. Mods did stop working due to an internal data storage system update, but that and ReShade should be working again now.

You can check out the full update via their Steam Community Post.

CarX Street is on sale for $8.99 for the Steam Summer Sale and is rated Playable due to small in-game text and needing to manually change the graphical settings for optimal play.
