We may be a site primarily focused on the Steam Deck, but that doesn't mean we turn a blind eye to innovations in handheld gaming, with AYANEO being one of the biggest names in the market, when they announced their new AYANEO 3 handheld we were pretty excited to see what they've come up with.

We don't have much in the way of specs yet, but we do know what the AYANEO 3 will be based on, as well as a couple of teaser renders of the device that has just been revealed.

AYANEO 3 Technical Specifications

As I said, the actual specifications of the device haven't been revealed yet. But, we do know there will be at least 2 configurations of the device, one featuring a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and another featuring a Ryzen 7 8840U, there will also be an LCD and an OLED model, whether those are tied to the APU choice or not remains to be seen.

The device will be available in at least 2 colorways, those being black and a very clean-looking white.

The AYANEO 3 also adds a couple of back buttons to the device, an AYANEO first, which is pretty useful to have, as I'm sure you know if you own a Steam Deck. They are placed in an interesting position, however, so I hope they aren't easily pressed on accident. The buttons along the bottom of the device at the front are also at an angle, and it will be interesting to see how they feel as well.

There'll be 2 speakers, both front-firing, much in the same manner as the Steam Deck.

There is also the ability to lock the triggers, I'm not too familiar with this concept, but I believe it means you can set the triggers to fully activate without having to push the trigger all the way, likely useful in games where quick reaction times are required.

In signature AYANEO fashion, both analog sticks will light up with RGB rings around them.

And that's really all we know about the device so far. It's great to see the new Ryzen AI chips move into the handheld space, but whether or not this is worth checking out will all come down to the price, so let's hope AYANEO can bring the device in at a reasonable cost, as we have no idea what the price might be right now.

There's also no word on a release date, what operating system AYANEO will choose for it, or if the vent smells as good as the Steam Deck's. We will have to wait and see to get answers to these important questions.

You can view full of the details released on the AYANEO 3 on the AYANEO X/Twitter page, which you can follow to be kept up to date with all the latest AYANEO news.

What do you think of the new AYANEO 3? Hopefully, we will get more details soon, but we'd love to hear what you think of the device and its design yourself in the comments below!
