At the time Abiotic Factor was released, I was starting to feel like survival games were a little stale. They all felt similar, and I was ready for something more unique. Then, Abiotic Factor came along. The Half-Life-esque atmosphere, interesting character customization, and emphasis on science for its gameplay mechanics breathed new life into the genre for me. I played it with Cryobyte33 to test it, and I was having too much fun. And the newest hotfix makes it more stable on the Steam Deck.

The new hotfix, which was released yesterday, includes a fix for a crash that could appear on the Steam Deck when inviting friends from the escape menu. Now, we should be able to invite friends with ease without any problems, which is especially nice.
This hotfix follows the second major update for the game, which was also released yesterday. It includes new areas, a new faction, Teleporter Pads, new enemies, and so much more. The hotfix patched up some bugs that rose up from this update, like missing icons for buffs, IS-0128 will now produce blue feces on occasion when tamed, and Keypad Hacker Tier 4 now has the correct recipe. There's also a new achievement that can be earned called Coreverse, which is a nice addition.
You can check out the full changelog for the Dark Energy and Hotfix updates via their respective Steam Community Posts.

Abiotic Factor is currently 20% off on Steam at $19.99 and is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, manually needing to bring up the virtual keyboard, small in-game text, and manually configuring graphics settings.
