Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Will Have a Steam Deck Version

It may have been basically all but confirmed, but now, we can say that the Assassin’s Creed 4 remake is here. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings us back on our adventure with Edward Kenway, completely reimagined in the newest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine. The game has been overhauled, refined, and expanded upon with new systems and content, like its parry-driven combat, additional missions, assigning officers to our ship (the Jackdaw), and more. It looks like it’s going to be a damn good time, and from their announcement, it seems like we will be able to enjoy it on the Steam Deck.

Over in the announcement page on Steam, there is one sentence later on that makes it sound like Ubisoft has been optimizing the game for the Steam Deck. In the sentence, they note that the game is coming to Steam and Steam Deck, but what makes it very interesting is that they also say that more details will come later for the Steam Deck version of the game:

You’ll be able to relive (or experience for the first time) Edward’s tale on Steam as well as on Steam Deck on July 9. More details will be shared later for the Steam Deck version.

This is interesting wording. With the announcement, we also have a PC spec sheet, and according to the specs, it’s a little bit too high to enjoy on the Deck. However, because they specifically mentioned a Steam Deck version, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are making some special changes to account for the limited hardware. And Molly wasn’t directly announced yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is work they are doing to get ready for a late Switch 2 release. Either way, I couldn’t be more excited.
