Some of my favorite older games to play on the Steam Deck come from Warner Bros. Games. The Batman Arkham and Middle-earth series are both so much fun to play, feeling perfect on the Deck in a multitude of ways. There are some other great Warner Bros. games that I would have loved to play on the Deck as well, but they weren't great on the Deck for one reason or another. However, two of their games just quietly got their Steam Deck Verified badges and fixed some of their issues that stopped them from being enjoyable on the go.

Mortal Kombat 11 (MK 11) is probably the biggest of the two games to get changes to become fully playable. The game was already a solid experience on the Deck, but it was only the offline content that was playable. Trying to fight anyone online would ultimately result in getting a desync error, which would hurt trying to play at all. But with this quiet update, multiplayer is working, and I was able to play a couple of Kasual fights online without any desync errors.

Mortal Kombat 11

I am quite surprised to see an update for Mortal Kombat 11 even come out. The game was initially released in 2019, and the next entry in the series, Mortal Kombat 1, is still prevalent. Even still, there is a good chunk of people still playing MK 11, so I would say it's a welcome update. It has taken some time, but it's nice to see that we can now fight against others online.

Gotham Knights also got an update to get the Verified badge, though it didn't have any major issues like MK 11 did. The game did have some dips in performance, but the biggest issues came from small text in some areas, like the tooltips. However, I can say from playing that the small text for tooltips is no longer a problem. There are some drops when driving around, but it's ultimately very playable on the Deck regardless.

Even though these are older games, it's still great to see them get updates. I didn't expect to see either of these get updates so late, but I am not complaining. I love MK 11, and while Gotham Knights wasn't the greatest game, it's still nice to see improvements. So, if you already own either of these titles, it may be a good time to try them out again!
