One of my favorite product makers for Steam Deck accessories is TouchProtect, and I have been a fan since the first trackpad protectors I got from Amazon before I started SteamDeckHQ. I love the different textures they have, which I found myself liking more than the original texture of the trackpads, how they protected the trackpads, and how easy they were to remove. Then, the maker came out with artisan, custom buttons for Steam Decks, which are great and give us a new way to customize our Decks. And if you are a fan of the original Game Boy, you are going to love the new color scheme we can get.

Earlier today, the official TouchProtect account, also known as Colored Controllers, announced on X/Twitter that they were going to start taking pre-orders for the new "Gabe Boy" color scheme, based off of the original Game Boy:

But it isn't just a color scheme, there's a bit more to it. We have a unique DMG-style Dpad, concave X and Y buttons, and the Steam/Quick Access Menu buttons have been renamed to "Gabe" and "Boy." It's not only an awesome color scheme, but to have the extra details in the design elevates it even higher.

The product isn't available just yet, but can be pre-ordered for $60 on the DeckButtons website. It is a little bit expensive, but the quality for these products are solid and it is a limited edition set, so I think it could be justified. You will also have to open your Steam Deck up to slide these buttons in, so if you feel a little worried about opening your device up, you may want to skip this product.

Either way, it's a great way to customize and I hope we see more of these kinds of unique designs in the future.
