With the Steam Deck becoming more popular, docks have started to come out to give easy ways gamers can plug their docks into their monitors or TVs. One of the first of these makers is JSAUX, who has released 4 different variations including one with a M.2 storage expansion and one with an extra DisplayPort. Now, they are starting to get a bit creative with a dock that has RGB lighting in it, and we were lucky enough to get sent an early beta version.

JSAUX RGB Dock

It has the same ports as the upgraded dock they released, which we did review, and still feels very well made, but there are a few key differences so far. The most obvious difference is the RGB lighting which, when plugged in, lights up on every side of the bottom. This creates a really cool lighting effect that I honestly enjoyed watching more than I expected.

There are also some structural changes from the upgraded dock with the biggest one being the deck holder. The size fits my Deck with a Killswitch case on, which means hardshell cases with no bulky attached kickstand should fit right into this dock! And, other than the cool design on top, I noticed that the entire bottom is now rubber instead of just the 4 corners. This definitely has stopped the dock from slipping and feels a bit more sturdy when moving.

I did have the chance to ask JSAUX a couple of questions regarding the final product. They mentioned that right now, they are working on personal RGB lighting customization, as well as being able to sync it with a game you are playing or battery status. On top of that, JSAUX has displayed an interest in possibly integrating OpenRGB support, which will allow easy and highly customizable light control and can sync up lights with other devices too!

Last but not least is pricing. When I asked them about pricing, they noted that while it isn't 100% set in stone yet, they are leaning towards a $69.99 price-tag. They did mention that there will be a discount on the website as well when it goes live, but didn't mention to me how much that discount will be. There was no release window mentioned when this will be ready for public sale, but we will update as we find out!

Overall though, even though this is a beta version, I am highly optimistic for what is to come! I am personally especially happy about the Killswitch being able to fit since it wasn't able to in the Upgraded Dock. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the final product!
