When I started SteamDeckHQ two years ago, I had no idea it would become what it is today. In two years, we have achieved so much more than I could have ever anticipated, and today, we hit another huge milestone. We submitted an application to become a publication on OpenCritic, and as of today, we are officially an OpenCritic publication!

SDHQXOpenCritic

So what does this mean exactly? Well, we are going to be submitting all of our reviews on OpenCritic, which will contribute to their aggregated score for the games we review! Of course, we will only be submitting our content score, while our SDHQ (Steam Deck Performance) score will remain exclusive to the website. Our content score is similar to what most other press outlets do with their game reviews and focuses more on the content of the game rather than how it runs on a specific device.

This won't change anything on our end. We will still be reviewing how games run on the Steam Deck and providing our recommended settings, as well as providing our content review for the games. This is just another place to find us, and I am honored that we can be one of the OpenCritic publications that is on the site.

Over the next days and weeks, we will be bringing in our backlog of reviews on to the site, as well as every review we post moving forward. It's something that means a lot to myself and the website as a whole to solidify what we do as meaningful, professional, and quality. It means so much to be recognized for the words we write and the hours upon hours each of us puts into our research, analyses, and writing.

And, of course, I want to thank all of you. Thank you all for reading our work, interacting with us, saying the kind words you have said to us, and supporting us. Everyone here at SteamDeckHQ sees it, and it pushes us to work harder and figure out more that we can do report on all things Steam Deck.

Thank you again for helping make this possible, and we will be seeing you over on OpenCritic!
