Hello to all our readers! I hope you guys are having a great weekend and prepping yourself for the onslaught of new games that are releasing this month, it's going to be a very busy one. Today, we uploaded and published our first Steam Deck Vs. Switch 2 comparison video, revolving around the newly released Cronos: The New Dawn. It was a bigger undertaking than I expected, and I am proud of how it turned out.
This is the first comparison video I have made, so I am looking for feedback on how we can improve it further. It definitely isn't perfect, but I did my best to cover all of the issues and differences I saw between the two versions of the game. This includes framerate, stability, resolution, and quality differences, as well as a final recommendation of my thoughts as to which version is better for portable play. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve it, please let me know either in comments to this article, on Discord, or by commenting on our YouTube video.
And if you're a Patron, you can help us choose the next Steam Deck Vs. Switch 2 video we create. Head on over to our newly made post and comment with the game you want to see compared. The one that gets the most suggestions will be what we focus on next.

I'm sorry, are we really comparing a brand new console to a 5 yr old one? And here's the kicker, the brand new console isn't even winning out. If you can't recommend the shiny (matte black) new console with it's hefty price tag, id consider it a failure. Nintendo won in the Board room, and we lost in the living room.
The Steam Deck is 3 years old, not 5. And as they are similarly priced, they should be compared.
I’ll also add that if you collected enough “XP”, Cronos is 20% off on Green Man Gaming, so $47.99.
Oh that's even better!!
Thanks Noah, I love this! Keep these type of videos coming! I personally use the Switch 2 for exclusives and buy everything else on Steam. Pretty much every game that releases on both is cheaper on Steam, and while performance between the two may be comparable, with numerous examples of better frame rates on Steam Deck, I can just use my PC or future next-gen Steam Deck or handheld PC and keep all my stuff.
Thank you so much! We are looking through our library to see what we will do next, and I think we decided. Only reason that will change depends on our Patreon post.
For the most part, I tend to gravitate towards Steam due to cheaper pricing and being able to play on both Deck and my desktop. I love "cross-platform" purchasing.
Same! I love my Switch 2 but whenever there's a game that's on both Steam and NSW2 I will 1000% go for it on Steam; I like to use my Deck docked as a PC, and if I do one day buy a full-on gaming PC it's great to have it for that as well. Plus sales are usually way better on Steam!
