It still feels like a dream, but Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally coming out, and we won't have to wait too much longer. Announced yesterday, the sequel to one of the best metroidvanias released in the last decade will be coming on September 4th, and it looks like it's going to be a fantastic experience that may live up to the long wait. And ahead of its release, the game has gotten its Steam Deck Verified badge, getting the approval stamp from Valve.

While I didn't have any doubts about it running on the Steam Deck since it is releasing on the Nintendo Switch, it's still great to see the Verified badge. Per Valve's guidelines, this means the game performs well, text and UI are both legible, the controller glyphs are correct, and the default controller configuration works without issue.
Surprisingly, the game's recommended computer specs are higher than I would have expected. The game looks very similar to its predecessor, yet the recommended specs are much higher. Even though it has been over 8 years, it still surprises me a bit. The recommended specs are asking for an Intel Core i5-3470 CPU, GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB) or Radeon R9 380 (2GB) GPU, and 8GB RAM. This is a pretty big jump from the older game. It should still be very playable on the Steam Deck, and I would be surprised if it wasn't.

Hollow Knight: Silksong can be wishlisted ahead of its September 4th release date.
