While it isn't perfect, playing The Sims 2 on the Steam Deck is a joy. This is the entry that got me into The Sims entirely, and I have fond memories playing it on the PS2 with my friend, who was also conveniently named Noah. It's still a blast to play, and if you have been noticing some weird UI issues at the Create-A-Sim (CAS) section, this update is for you!

The new patch for the game is a small one, but it fixes two issues. The CAS UI should be correctly laid out on 1280x800 resolutions, and now you can enter text into some fields where you couldn't before. While it doesn't specifically mention the Steam Deck, 1280x800 is the Deck's native resolution, so it wouldn't be a stretch to connect these two, given how rare that resolution is in general.
You can check out the changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.
Even with these issues, The Sims 2 Legacy Collection was perfectly playable on the Steam Deck. It doesn't have controller support, which is a shame, but it's still fully playable using the trackpad as a mouse. It runs exceptionally well too, running at the highest visual quality with under 10W battery drain at 60 FPS, so there's no reason not to play it on the go!

The Sims 2 Legacy Collection is available on Steam for $29.99 and is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, small in-game text, and needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard.
