Saints Row is Epic's 12th Free Game for the 2023 Holidays

Saints Row is one of my favorite open-world sandbox games that I have ever played. I have fond memories of Saints Row the Third, driving around in cars, exploding the enemy, and hitting random civilians with a giant purple dildo. And while the reboot did get rid of a lot of what made Saints Row so unique, it was still a solid entry in the series if you ignore the past games. If this was a bit of a turnoff before, but you are still curious to try it, you will be able to do so without paying anything now because it is Epic's next free game for the holidays!

Now, I did review and try Saints Row out through its Steam version, and for the most part, it runs pretty well! Locking to 30 FPS with medium visuals was perfect for me, but it can mostly hit 40 if you are okay with making some compromises on the graphics. This is also one of the games where Valve's Verified system tends to fail. It is rated "Unsupported," but it plays extremely well and should be at least Playable. They say the graphics settings can't be configured to run well, but my experience, and others on ProtonDB, do say otherwise.

You can get Saints Row for free to keep on Epic for the next 23 hours before the next game unlocks, and this one goes back to its sale price. You can redeem the game on the Epic Games Store. To play games from Epic on the Deck, you will need to either install the Heroic Games Launcher, which you can find on the Discover Store, or install the client directly, which you can do easily through a 3rd party script.
