Update 11/3/25 - There was a small update pushed specifically with a button to stop all theme song music.
NonSteamLaunchers has been my go-to script for installing third-party launchers on the Steam Deck. Developed by moraroy, it allows you to select whichever launchers you want and sets them up for you within Steam. It's a great tool to use to bring in games that aren't on Steam, and today, we got a new update for it that has nothing to do with launchers at all.

In a surprise update, we can now listen to our Steam library's theme songs when selecting them. Now, after opening NonSteamLaunchers, you can select a game within your Steam library, and it will start playing the game's theme song. This will also keep going after closing the NonSteamLaunchers window.
Based on the now-archived Decky Plugin, this works by taking the name of the game you select, searching for the theme song on YouTube, and streaming it to you. It will also save the streaming info, so next time you want to listen to it, it will load automatically. This shouldn't take up much space, as 119 games were stored in a 3.7 KB file according to moraroy. The music cache is deleted after one week, so it doesn't store it permanently. This also works on non-Steam games.
Now, it is a bit rushed out and does have a few weird hiccups. On the desktop side, there is no off button. It will basically keep playing the music until you go back to Game Mode. You can stop the scanner completely to turn it off, or click play on a game, and it will shut off until you choose another game from Steam, but that's it. The Decky Plugin version of NonSteamLaunchers does have an off button, so this issue only affects the desktop version.
I have mentioned this to moraroy as well, who says an off button for desktop is coming soon.
If you already have NonSteamLaunchers downloaded on your Steam Deck, just run it, and it will auto-update to the newest version. It may give a pop-up that you should update to 4.2.7, but just hit ok and ignore it. If you don't, you can follow our guide on how to get it set up.

I've missed the old Decky plugin, awesome to see it reintroduced in a different way like this.
It's definitely interesting. It's a nice option to have, it just needed to be an option.
