I love using NonSteamLaunchers when I want to play games that aren't on Steam. It's a script that automatically installs and configures 3rd party launchers like the Epic Games Store and Amazon Prime, while also getting it set up into their respective prefixes. It's a fantastic little tool to use, and it just got a little new update that I found interesting.

The new 4.2.4 update introduces custom sort names for any games that are added to Steam directly by their launcher. For example, if you install Cronos: The New Dawn from the Epic Games Store, it will now pop up when you search your library for "Epic Games." It's an interesting change that makes it easier to list out and see which games are installed from their respective launchers.

I can't exactly say how I feel about the update. On one hand, it's nice to be able to list and see all of the games associated with a specific launcher. But on the other, I like to just search by name in general and this might make me a little confused. Even still, being able to see what is installed by which launcher without having to go into that launcher is a nice feature, and with it all being automatic, I could see it being very useful.

If you already have NonSteamLaunchers downloaded on your Steam Deck, just run it, and it will auto-update to the newest version. It may give a pop-up that you should update to 4.2.2, but just hit ok and ignore it. If you don't, you can follow our guide on how to get it set up.
