All the Announcements From Today's Nintendo Direct, June 9th, 2026

It's been a while since we had a major Nintendo Direct featuring first-party games, but the wait is finally over. We had a solid 50 minutes of presentation featuring upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch 2 (and some for the original Switch), so let's take a look at all the announcements.

A Better Look at Rhythm Heaven Groove Heading to Switch - July 2nd, 2026

Rhythm Heaven Groove is all about tapping to the rhythm. You'll need to listen carefully and tap along to the beat in over 80 different games, including an RPG-like rhythm battle system. Plus, there are over 30 games available for up to 4 local players.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Confirmed for Switch 2 - Releasing September 25th, 2026

Onimusha: Way of the Sword was shown over the weekend, but it looked like it was skipping Switch 2. Now, we have confirmation that it will launch on the system, with Joy-Con motion control support.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Coming to Switch 2 - October 9th, 2026

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is being ported to the Switch 2. It will also supposedly include some extra content, which I assume might be some of the DLC for the base game.

Stellar Blade is Being Ported to Switch 2 - Later in 2026

Well, if the Stellar Blade: Blood Rain announcement earlier this week wasn't enough for you, we now have confirmation that the original Stellar Blade game will be making its way onto the Switch 2 later this year.

Co-op Retro Sci-Fi Adventure 'Orbitals' Launches on Switch 2, September 3rd, 2026

The retro-anime inspired co-op adventure game Orbitals has finally switched from the vague "Summer 2026" release window to a firm date of September 3rd.

Rayman Legends Retold is Coming to Switch 2 on October 1st, 2026

Not really a surprise to anyone here, but Rayman Legends Retold is coming to the Switch 2. We did get confirmation that there will be 4 brand new musical-themed levels in the remake, however. You will also be able to play a unique versus mode over Gameshare.

Big Walk from the Creators of Untitled Goose Game Finally Bags a Release Date, Coming August 4th, 2026

We've been waiting for a release date for this one for a while, but Big Walk is coming out at quite short notice, with less than 2 months until you'll be able to potter around with your friends in this co-op exploration game.

ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is Coming to Switch and Switch 2 - October 23rd, 2026

Fancy yourself as a chef? Embark on this culinary adventure with the ONE PIECE gang, as you build a floating restaurant and feed over 400 characters from the franchise!

Pokémon Pokopia is Getting a Free Update that Adds Underwater Exploration, Paid DLC Coming - Releasing August 2026

The free update will add the move "Dive", which will let you swim and explore underwater.

A paid expansion pass is also on the way, which will add a new underwater town as part of Bubbly Basin, as well as 2 other DLC expansions.

A Look at the Characters & Gameplay of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave - Coming 17th September 2026

We got a look at the main characters we'll be seeing in the new Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave game, and you'll be able to choose which character you want to guide to victory. We also got a look at the first gameplay footage. Surprisingly, the game launches in just 3 months, this September.

Ninjala 2 Announced for Switch 2, a Co-op Open World Action Adventure - Launches Spring 2027, as an Exclusive

If you thought Ninjala was dead (I did), then think again. Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet offers a twist on the original idea, this time presenting us with an open-world adventure game that you can play in co-op with up to 4 players.

DK Challenge Gives Special Objectives in Classic DK Games for a Limited Time on Nintendo Switch Online - Available Today

As part of a new initiative for Nintendo, there will be a DK Challenge added to Nintendo Switch Online, offering special objectives and challenges in classic Donkey Kong games, such as the Donkey Kong Country series.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivathon is an 8 Player Survivor-like from the Creators of Vampire Survivors - Later in 2026

Compete against up to 7 others in a competitive survivor-like game from the creators of Vampire Survivors. Earn points to alter the rules to your advantage, then the best 2 players will battle it out in a head-to-head match for supremacy.

Lords of the Fallen II Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 - Coming Fall 2026

Dark Fantasy Action RPG Lords of the Fallen II is making its way to Switch 2 alongside other platforms when it launches this Fall.

Lies of P: Complete Edition Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 - August 6th, 2026

It's quite surprising that it took this long, but Lies of P is finally making its way to a Nintendo platform, with the Complete Edition heading to the Switch 2 in August. This includes Overture, the paid DLC that was a prequel to the main game.

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition is Being Ported to Nintendo Switch 2 - June 23rd, 2026

Devil May Cry 5 will run at 60 FPS docked and undocked, as well as feature additional content, like Battle Tracks, Character Colors, and Devil Breaker Weapons for Nero.

Muramasa: Revenant Blades is Coming to Switch and Switch 2 - Early 2027

Experience the side-scrolling action RPG epic from Vanillaware and Marvelous with stunning 4K visuals, all-new English voiceover and localisation, new modes and more.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3 are Getting Switch 2 Editions, Playable in 4K

All 3 games get enhanced resolution and frame rate, and are playable at 60 FPS. You can also get a fast-paced vehicle in the original Xenoblade Chronicles for the first time. With more additional content in each game.

The first game will be available today, with the 2nd available on July 30th, and the third game available on December 3rd.

Xenoblade Genesis Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 - Coming in 2027

A brand new Xenoblade game is making its way to Switch 2. Xenoblade Genesis is a new beginning for the series. It's not clear whether it will be a prequel or entirely unrelated to the existing Xenoblade games.

Nintendo Switch Sports: Resort, Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 - Coming October 22nd, 2026

We had this one rumored, but Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is now confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first Nintendo sports/fitness game for the Switch 2. There will be 12 "sports" included in the game, which make use of the Joy-Cons motion controls.

Notably, there are no games that make use of accessories like the Ring or Leg-Strap, so it looks like those accessories might be skipping the Switch 2.

Runescape: Dragonwilds is Coming to Switch 2 - September 15th, 2026

A little treat for Runescape fans here. I believe we already knew this information thanks to previous announcements over the weekend, but we do have confirmation that Runescape: Dragonwilds is also coming to the Switch 2 this September.

Hello Kitty Party Land is a New Mini-Game Compilation - Coming October 29th, 2026

With 140 Sanrio Characters, and over 40 minigames, you can throw yourself into the party, coming exclusively to Switch and Switch 2 on October 29th. We'll see if it lives up to the standard of the great Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

More Gameplay Shown for Star Fox - Releases June 25th, 2026, Free Demo Out Today

A free demo for the upcoming Star Fox game is out now, and we got a little peek at some more gameplay, nothing too exciting is going on here, though.

Final Fantasy Resonance, Sees the Franchise Embrace the HD-2D Aesthetic - Coming to Switch and Switch 2, October 22nd, 2026

Given how prevalent HD-2D has become, it's a wonder it's taken this long for Final Fantasy to jump into the art style, but Final Fantasy Resonance will be a brand new Final Fantasy game embracing the HD-2D aesthetic, and it's coming this October on Switch 1 and 2.

Pikuniku 2 is a 3D Puzzling Adventure Coming to Switch 2 - Coming in 2027

Pikuniku is entering the 3D realm in this adorable sequel. Embark on a puzzling adventure and find unique solutions to problems in a world where all is not as it seems.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World Brings Creature Collecting, December 3rd, 2026

In what looks like a pretty neat creature collector, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World allows you to go on an adventure alongside a large ensemble of your monster friends! It's coming to Switch and Switch 2.

The Duskbloods is Getting a Closed Network Test in Summer 2026

Surprisingly little shown here of the highly anticipated The Duskbloods, but we do have a closed network test coming sometime within the next 3 months at least.

A Look at the Gameplay of Splatoon Raiders, a Further Direct is Coming June 30th - Coming to Switch 2, July 23rd, 2026

Splatoon Raiders got a nice feature during the Nintendo Direct, and it looks to be an interesting spin on the franchise. There will be a future Direct dedicated to the game on June 30th, ahead of the game's launch on July 23rd.

Deltarune Chapter 5 is Coming June 24th, 2026 as a Free Update

Deltarune snuck into the Nintendo Direct to announce that Chapter 5 will be launching in just 2 weeks on June 24th, 2026 as a free update to the existing game.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is Coming to Switch 2, November 12th, 2026

Metaphor: ReFantazio is being ported to the Switch 2. It does look like the visuals have been downgraded a little from the other consoles, but the frame rate at least looked relatively stable, so it should be a decent experience.

Minecraft Switch 2 Edition Confirmed, Coming Later in 2026

Minecraft is getting a Switch 2 Edition, giving enhanced visuals as well as support for carrying over worlds from the Switch 1 version of the game. Obviously, the best news of the entire Nintendo Direct.

• Tales of Eternia: Remastered: Launching October 16th, 2026 on Switch 1 and 2
• Snowrunner: Launching Today on Switch 2

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, 2.8, and 3 are Being Ported to Switch 2 - October 8th, 2026

Previously only available as "Cloud" versions on the Switch, the Kingdom Hearts games are being fully ported to the Switch 2, allowing you to play the game natively on your device. If you have a save game on the cloud version, you can also transfer that save to your Switch 2 editions.

As a side note, a native (non-cloud) version of the 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix game will be coming to the original Switch.

Kingdom Hearts IV Gameplay Shown - No Release Date

Kingdom Hearts IV Gameplay was shown, although we still don't know too much about the game. It does look great, and we do have confirmation of the platforms the game will be launching on, which includes the Switch 2.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Confirmed for a 2026 Release on Switch 2

We had it leaked beforehand, but we will see a remake of Ocarina of Time on the Switch 2, and it's coming sooner than we might think, with a release due later in 2026. No gameplay or a date shown for this one, which is strange considering the release will be less than 6 months away.

That's all for this Nintendo Direct. What games are you looking forward to? Obviously, the Ocarina of Time remake will be high on many people's lists, and I might try it out myself. I find the N64 classic hard to go back to, and I don't fancy playing the 3DS remake on a smaller screen either.
