Lenovo Legion Go Users who Suffered from a Faulty BIOS Update May be Entitled to Free Repairs

A little while ago, we reported that some Lenovo Legion Go devices were getting bricked by the vN3CN42WW BIOS update. Users under warranty were able to get their devices repaired, but users out of warranty were reportedly being quoted large sums of money to have their devices fixed.

Well, it appears as though Lenovo itself has been testing the BIOS update on devices and has seemingly confirmed that some of its own devices have been bricked by the BIOS update.

Because of this new development, Lenovo should be made to fix even out-of-warranty devices, depending on the laws in your country (European Union countries should qualify), according to a Lenovo employee. Although it appears some are still being asked to pay by Lenovo when requesting repairs for their bricked device.

The BIOS update in question has since been removed by Lenovo, so there should be no risk of you accidentally updating to the BIOS and bricking your Legion Go device. But if your device has already suffered from the update, it's definitely worth getting in touch with Lenovo, even if you're out of warranty, and asking them to fix your device free of charge.
