DXVK is an essential part of the Proton compatibility layer that translates games using DirectX 8, 9, 10, or 11 into Vulkan so we can run them on the Steam Deck. And today, it just got a new update that fixes some issues in a few games and a shader compilation crash. Call of Duty: Ghosts, Corpse Party, Painkiller: Black Edition, Rayman 3, and Skyrim Special Edition have all gotten fixes, while a crash for certain ENB shaders when compiling has also been fixed.
This version of DXVK isn’t in Proton’s stable branch yet, but it will most likely be integrated soon into the Experimental branch for us to use on the Steam Deck easily. Once it is, we will be able to see these improvements for ourselves. The current version in the stable branch is 2.7.1, so I’m sure we will see a nice update soon.
