Lenovo Legion Go 2 Gets Price Increase To $2,000

It looks like the computer component crisis has claimed another victim in the form of the Lenovo Legion Go 2. Best Buy in the US just updated its prices for the handheld, raising the 32GB RAM model from $1,350 to a whopping $1,999, and the device isn't even available to purchase right now.

Meanwhile, the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X is still priced at $999.99 as of the time of writing this article, and is in stock. Considering the 2 devices share the same APU, Lenovo is asking a lot just for the advantage of a larger OLED screen, and some additional RAM featured in the Lenovo Legion Go 2. It's possible Lenovo is struggling to produce enough units.

That being said, this whole Lenovo situation is indicative of the current crisis facing the computer component industry right now, and I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing price increases across the board. It would seem unreasonable to believe that the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X will stay at half the price of its Lenovo competitor.

This does leave the Steam Deck in a rather pretty position, though. While it doesn't compete with these 2 devices in terms of raw power, the price point that Valve has managed to keep the device at does help it maintain its appeal, considering other handhelds and consoles (such as the PS5) around it are ever-increasing in cost.
